Dear Friends and Music Lovers,

I am happy to announce that Musical Experiences is embarking on its 20th season!

Our series opens with a recital of Mozart piano sonatas at Sherman Clay Pianos in the heart of downtown Seattle. Once again, Musical Experiences is proud to collaborate with Steinway & Sons and Sherman Clay.

In January I will present a program of piano works by Bach, Scarlatti, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin. This will be the first time that I have programmed the great Chopin fourth Ballade in f minor.

Our series concludes in April with a special concert, featuring members of the outstanding ODEONQUARTET (their preferred spelling). I am pleased to welcome violinist Gennady Filimonov, violist Sayaka Kakubo and cellist Rowena Hammill to our series for the first time. We will perform two beautiful piano quartets – the Schumann E flat, opus 47, and the Brahms g minor, opus 25.

My special thanks to all of you who have been so supportive and have made Musical Experiences possible over the past two decades. I hope you will be able to join us for one or more of this season’s concerts. It remains an honor to pursue my love of combining live music with musical education and, as always, it is my goal to open the ear, inspire the mind and touch the heart.
