Catherine Treadgold Mezzo
Soprano
Born and raised in Seattle, mezzo soprano
Catherine Treadgold began her career in New York City performing in
musical theater, opera and oratorio. Upon returning to the West Coast, she has
continued to work in all three genres, starring as Edwin Drood in The
Mystery of Edwin Drood in Olympia, touring for several seasons with
Northwest Opera in Schools, Etc. (NOISE), acting as both lecturer and soloist
for Seattle Opera previews, and appearing as a guest artist with Orchestra
Seattle, Musical Experiences, Masterworks Choral Ensemble, and Pacific
Northwest Chamber Chorus. For the past four years she has performed throughout
Washington State as a member of the quartet, The Operatic Four Players. In
November of 2002 she performed the role of Clorinda in the Early Music
Guilds production of Monteverdis Il combattimento di Tancredi e
Clorinda. Favorite operatic roles include Giulio Cesare in Handels
Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Florence Pike in Brittens Albert
Herring and Cherubino in Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro. In the
fall of 2002 she joined the voice faculty at Shoreline Community College. A
former winner of the UWs Brechemin Scholarship and the Ladies
Musical Club competition, Ms. Treadgold has a BA Cum Laude from Princeton
University and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the
University of Washington. She is a member of Actors Equity and a
certified stage fighter. |
